Historical Heritage is a side case in The Sinking City. This side case becomes available after completing the main case Quid Pro Quo. It can be launched by taking a flyer pinned to the sign in front of any of the listed locations within the flyer. The flyer reads :

To complete this case reed will need to visit and learn about each of these locations, they may be done in any order.
The following sections contain spoilers about the case.
Church of Redemption[]
The Church of redemption is located in Central Salvation Harbor on Marsh Ave, between Polaris Rd and Old Church Rd. In front of the church Reed can interact with the large sign which reads Church of Redemption, Founded in 1667. Cast away your evil deeds and find redemption in our lord After which a retrocognition sequence begins.
- A local saying that the location is cursed and to not build a church there.
- Construction on the Church, A man speaking about legacy.
- A large number of coffins behind the church.
From this reed learns that the carpenter manor used to be here but was destroyed in a fire, killing most of the family. The last surviving patriarch ordered the church to be built over the ruin.
Church of St. Michael[]
The Church of St. Michael is located in Central Advent, on Forefathers St, between University St. and St. Botolph's Rd. Reed can interact with the large sign along Forefathers St which reads St. Michael's Church of the Burning Bush, let the flame redeem your sins. After reading a retrocognition sequence begins.
- Men with carts carrying riches through the entrance.
- People carrying torches up the slope.
- A man preaching to a crowd at the doorway of the church.
From this he learns that the worshipers at St. Michaels are fire worshipers who beleive that if they burn their property they will be cleansed of sins. They believe the afterlife to be an eternal pyre but sinners will burn while believers will be unharmed.
University of Oakmont[]
The University of Oakmont is located in Southern Reed Heights on on Ward Street between Eibon and Alhazred St. Reed can interact with the large sign east of the fountain at the center of the university. That sign reads This commemorates all the brave researchers of Oakmont university who gave their lives in the cause of scientific knowledge From here a retrocognition sequence begins.
- An University staff member or researcher arrives with Mr. Throgmorton in tow and presents the Third Monolith.
- A doctor refuses to let the research continue because the disease is clearly caused by the appearance of the Monoliths.
- A man under Mr. Throgmorton demands that the research is to be continued regardless of the number of sick and already dead people.
From this Reed learns that after the flood several monoliths appeared, Robert Throgmorton funded research into the monoliths but the researchers became ill from the monoliths influence. Despite this Throgmorton continued to persist in wanting research done.
Fish Market[]
The fish market is located in eastern Shells, on Orchard Ave. between Benevolent Tides Rd. and Holy Fire Ln. Reed can interact with the sign at the right of the main enterance which reads The fish market you see now was sponsored by the generous Blackwood family and maintained by the honorable Marsh family from Innsmouth. After reading this a retrocognition sequence begins.
- The associated men from the Blackwood family and Marsh Family are declaring that they are taking over the Fish Market.
- The takeover follows with the people owning the market before getting all killed.
- "The Blackwoods will continue to support the Innsmouthers..."
From this Reed learns that the Blackwood and Marsh families worked together to violently take control of the Oakmont Fish Market. This put the Blackwood family in the position of the third Grand family of Oakmont.
Hospital of St. Mary[]
The hospital is located across from the in park in Coverside on Landing Ave between Roosevelt St an Lincoln St. Charles can interact with the sign in front of the hospital, which reads "Hospital of St. Mary, founded in 1862. Designed by B.A. Kaplan. Every life matters !" A retrocognition sequence is launched, the order being :
- Locals are putting bodies into a truck, right after the Flood began.
- People are sitting in the park in front of the hospital, searching for medicine.
- The hospital staff is refusing new patients due to being overwhelmed and out of space.
Charles thus learned that the hospital struggled when the Flood hit, unable to take care of everyone.
