Joe Hill when meeting him for the first time

Joseph Hill is an archeologist, also knowledgeable in alchemy and "other less academic sciences". He has black hair, green eyes and very pale white skin.

He went to South America, spending years in the jungle to study the Mayans, but ended up returning home when contracting a tropical disease, borne by a certain species of fly. This disease manifests itself with red wounds on his face and neck.

They bred in the wells of the old Mayan temple. Superstitious savages may call it a curse of the gods, but we're people of culture, aren't we ?

He also has face tattoos and describes them this way :

The Indians gave them to me. I visited a lost pyramid in the jungle. These are... marks of wisdom.

Charles meets him through Johannes van der Berg at the beginning of the Fleeing Phoenix quest. Joseph believes Xibalba's entrance is situated under Oakmont.
